BNZ hosts morning tea
2 July 2008
Newmarket’s Bank of New Zealand branch manager Diane Wright was delighted with the part the Broadway branch played in last month’s ‘Stop for New Zealand’s Biggest Morning Tea’ campaign.
The awareness campaign saw New Zealanders being asked to get together with workmates, friends and family for a cuppa, coffee and cake to do something about domestic violence.
Preventing Violence in the Home and the Bank of New Zealand asked Kiwis to host a morning tea during last month to raise awareness about domestic violence.
Diane Wright says BNZ’s partnership with Preventing Violence in the Home appealed because of the social importance of the work it accomplishes.
“We had a rolling morning tea in the branch, where invitees and our clients could enjoy some freshly brewed coffee and muffins. People were also able to make donations and take away information,” says Diane (left).
Other Newmarket businesses also hosted morning teas, including Triangle Recruitment, Level 3, 235 Broadway.
